We work for a more sustainable world
For many years the school has been part ofMore sustainable schools, a project in which families, students and teachers are involved. In Primer, the topic of the 3Rs is worked on: Reduce, Reuse and RecycleChildren learn how to carry out selective waste collection and discover that, in addition to recycling, we can reduce the waste we produce by reusing it before throwing it definitively in the container.
On November 14, 1st grade students went to visit the “Maresme Comprehensive Waste Recovery Center“. After watching the presentation video, they put on a helmet and a vest and went on a tour of the waste plant. There they could observe how all the waste that we throw in the gray container (waste) is separated. Everything that cannot be reused or recycled is burned in large furnaces to reduce it. Then they went to lunch on the beach and enjoyed some time of recreation looking for shells and running races in the sand.
As it is very important for us that our students are sustainable, committed to the environment and take care of the planet, this competence is worked on in all courses in an experiential way.
