AFA

The Associació de Fámílies d'Alumnes (AFA) is a non-profit association brought together voluntarily by parents of the school. The AFA is legally recognized and has its own operating rules and statutes regulated by law.

The AFA makes mechanisms available to families so that they can get involved in the education of their sons and daughters. Its main purpose is to facilitate the participation of families in the center's activities, to contribute to the improvement of the quality of the system and to the governance of the center and to facilitate the provision of services outside school hours.

One of the functions of the AFA is to provide support to analyze, work and carry out different projects or areas of interest for the families of Father Damián. An important part is to collaborate in the methodology of the center of continuous improvement. Continuous improvement is an essential component at Padre Damián and, in this sense, the center carries out different activities and actions seeking excellence. The commissions of the AFA serve to enable families to be actively involved with the center in the approach of continuous improvement of the educational skills of the students in continuous evolution.

In order to cover all these areas of interest and work efficiently and effectively, different commissions or working groups are created for each specific area. The commissions are made up of different members of the AFA and are coordinated by a representative of the Commission.

Main Commissions

  • Purchase of computers for ESO students: Support in the search for computer suppliers for ESO students, open to all school families.
  • Collaboration with the school in improvement projects: Playground project, Atelier, Creative Classroom, computer service, scholarships.
  • Family Day The AFA carries out different support tasks, coordination and execution of the different activities that take place on Family Day at the centre.
  • extracurricular: support in the continuous improvement of extracurricular activities.
  • Royal Page:  support tasks in the coordination of the activity of Page Reial
  • Support open doors: participation and support in Father Damián's open days.
  • Series of conferences: support in the activities to hold conferences in the center.
  • ICT: activities to provide information to families on related topics in information and communication technologies.
  • Mobile in teenagers: monitoring and participation in the different initiatives related to the responsible use of mobile devices connected to the internet.
  • End of year party: coordination activities and active participation in the end-of-year Revetlla.
