We trust in positive discipline!
At school we are aware of the importance of education from the heart and with the heart. That is why we are delving into the world of positive discipline.
Positive discipline intertwines the teaching of social-emotional skills and character development in the daily life of the school. We want to implement a discipline program that is mindful and allows enough flexibility to allow for consideration of the student in his or her individuality. We want to build a learning community that models mutual respect and promotes academic excellence for all students. It is not easy work and the results are long-term but we trust and are committed to this school project.
We have also carried out activities following this line of action and that seek reflection. You could see some examples in publications on our social networks last year (like this one fromhere, for example) but, as learning is continuous and we want to continue improving, a week ago a certified training was held at the school which was attended by nursery and primary school teachers from our school, along with teachers from other centres.
This year we are expanding the courses in which we put this methodology into practice and, for now, we have it in place from kindergarten to 3rd year of secondary education.
We will be publishing more entries with other examples of what we are doing: roles and tasks, agreements and guidelines, Carlitos, cooperative juggling, etc.
