Together for Peace
Last January 30th was the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace, and is celebrated on this date to commemorate the death of Gandhi. For this reason, the month of January is the month of peace.
We have worked on different activities throughout the month to remember the importance of tolerance, respect, non-violence and solidarity.
One of them has been the "peace traffic light”, which you have probably already seen on our social networks. Each class has developed its own traffic light. We have reflected on what attitudes harm and disturb an environment of peace (red), what values help us maintain peace around us (green) and, finally, what actions we need to take to move from the red zone to the green (orange). In addition, the twinned classes that are part of our “Creixem junts” project (primary and ESO) have shared their conclusions once the traffic lights have been developed.
We have also listened to different songs related to peace (“Siente la paz”, “Al País Blanc”, “Imagine”, “Paz y amor”…), we have talked about the message they convey and we have learned them to sing them at the Peace Act.
Finally, we celebrated our peace event on the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace. The whole school came together to share our songs and the older students read a manifesto they had written about the importance of making the world a better place together because they, our students, are the future.
