LOC (La Otra Cara), qualified to participate in the 9th Catalan Competition of Mini-Companies of JA
Congratulations to the LOC Mini-Company, made up of 1st year high school students, Laia Canadés, Víctor Bellsolell, Óscar Grau, Gerard Rodríguez and Álex Vázquez who have qualified to go to the IX Catalan Business Competition organized by the American foundation Junior Achievement which promotes entrepreneurship in schools. Out of 95 projects presented in the Miniempresas program in which more than 2,000 students participated, they were classified in 2nd position among the 18 finalists.
The jury has valued the quality of your video pitch and also of your project report. Therefore, it is already a milestone and a satisfaction to have reached this far. Our most sincere congratulations! You have done a very good job with dedication, passion, effort and work.
The LOC mini-company, La Otra Cara, wanted to create a school magazine 100% edited by the school's students. Its aim was to bring the success of publishing their own magazine to American high schools and, at the same time, contribute to increasing the reading habit and journalistic culture within the school environment.
The magazine gives voice to the other side of the day-to-day life of schools: teachers and students are interviewed, articles are published on topics that interest them and, even, the magazine has carried out an initiative, which has had the participation of all the students, to change the design of the school sweatshirt. It also includes a fun section on school hobbies.
You can see the video-pitch that they presented in the competition.
The LOC team is preparing these days in the school's Croma Room to prepare a special edition of the magazine for Sant Jordi's Day and also to finalize details for the competition that will take place on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th April.
This year, due to the impact of Covid-19, it will be in an online 100% format. On the first day, students will have an interview with the jury and will also do group dynamics with the other mini-companies with which they compete. From the results of the preliminary classification and the interviews, 4 finalists will be chosen who will be able to participate in the National Competition.
Good luck and keep going, entrepreneurs!!
